Overview
The Starboard Restaurant is Dewey's most famous venue for fun, great times, and tremendous service! It has been home-awayfrom-home for most Dewey Beach visitors over our 55+ year history. The Starboard truly holds a special place in more people's hearts than anyone could ever imagine! The Starboard was originally built and opened by Duke Duggan around 1960 and has gone through several changes over its years. Purchased and run by the Hearn family during the late 80's and early 90's, Chip Hearn grew The Starboard into a nationally known hot spot. Purchased by current owners Steve 'Monty' Montgomery and his partners in 1999, The Starboard's popularity is now off the charts as it has grown into a national phenomenon! From famous Suicide Sundays to Eggs Delmarva and wonderful breakfasts and nightly entertainment - both on stage and with long-time DJ personalities - you will always find a crowd of people enjoying themselves at The Starboard. Wear Starboard merchandise anywhere in the country and you are bound to have someone mention how much fun THEY had when last in Dewey Beach! There isn't enough room to list all the awards from over the years - most impressive have been the infamous Cornerstone Award in 2010 by the Delaware Restaurant Association showing the level of community service The Starboard has contributed. Our local Chamber of Commerce awarded The Starboard its Business of the Year in 2009, and Delaware Today magazine readers annually award The Starboard as Dewey Beach's best restaurant, best downstate bar, best Sunday brunch, best staff, best event (Running of the Bull), amongst so many others. Questions and answers
Are we able to eat brunch at the place??? Like with current conditions?
I went in early evening around 7pm. We had reservations and ate dinner. Food and service were enjoyable!
How can I purchase a gift certificate
Go there, or the Web site. Or pick one off a tree
Where do you park, since the lot is now used for outside dining ??
Side streets or take an uber. Not much parking in the area. You may also need a parking permit as well to park in some spots
Is starboard 21 and over after 10 PM
I am sorry don't know what time they closed.
Do I need a reservation for Sunday?

Is there a cover charge tonight to see the Bruce Band?
They never have a cover...

The best of the best. I'd recommend the crab dip pretzel but honestly everything is amazing! I have so many favorites, the menu is becoming my favorite. Definitely need to add an orange crush to hydrate!

Went here before peak season so it was pretty chill, and the service was quick and friendly. The seafood is delicious and fresh. We had local oysters (Dewey beach and Delaware bay ones) that were huge and so good they didn't need any toppings, as well as crab legs and the incredible seafood chowder that was so chunky I'm not even sure what all was in it (shrimp for sure at least). Also had the crab guacamole, which was good too, but didn't take a picture of it. We're new to Delaware but will definitely be coming back, as we plan on frequenting the beach. There are too many items on the menu we haven't tried.

The food was great, it came out faster than anticipated. It is a bar like atmosphere, if you don't like loud places it won't be for you, but you will be missing on some delicious food. The price was not bad either. The entire place was clean.

We had both raw and fried oysters which were both prepared very well. The fried oysters were cooked well and had a good taste. Raw oysters also had a very good taste and they served the appropriate sauce and horseradish with them. Service was friendly and efficient. I would definitely go back there. Plus we just missed Ryan Phillippe! I sat in the same booth he just vacated.

It was a great dinner we had with my husband here we tried the raw oysters buck a shuck on Thursday it really good. There short rib meal is good too.

I would only recommend coming here if you want to drink and get crazy because it is loud as hell. It is also very congested and they only have five tables and the rest of it is a bar. I would not consider it a restaurant but the food was descent.
